DOWRY- meaning of dowry is "money or
property that wife take with her to her husband's house or what brides parents
give to their daughter on her wedding"
The concept of dowry is not only in Islam but
also in India , America and other foreign countries also but worst condition of
this concept is in India and after that in Pakistan also as we have lived in
sub-continent with Hindus many years so some of these concepts are merged into
us and it is one that..It’s not like that am against this concept how can I be
as its also in Islam... but nobody today in this world know the true concept of
this system.. As nobody do If they do then even today girls wouldn't be murdered,
nor they will be sitting their parents home waiting for their marriages neither
they wouldn't be considered bad luck....
The true concept of dowry in Islam is that
bride's parents can give their daughters money or property with their own will
and according to their standards...It’s not like that ,that groom's parents can
demand anything from bride's parent even though they cannot afford that...I am
against this which is happening around us...every second a girl is murdered or
ignited due to dowry...there are many girls who are sitting in their parents’
home and waiting for their marriages because their parents are not rich enough
to buy all those luxuries which groom's parent demand...It’s sad really sad to
know ...and in this situation our Government is not doing anything they are
just busy to fill up their own pockets with a lot of money...
Let’s just take an example, OUR HOLY PROPHET
(SAW) married HIS (SAW)'s daughter HAZRAT BIBI FATIMA (RA) to HAZRAT ALI (RA)
with simplicity... HE(SAW) gave HIS (SAW)'s DAUGHTER things of need with HIS
(SAW)'s own wish and HAZRAT ALI (RA) sold HIS(RA) ZIRRAH to buy things of need
like praying mat, sleeping mat, some utensils, pitcher and some clothes for the
bride... this is right thing and OUR HOLY PROPHET (SAW) set an example...but
are we doing?? Are we following our HOLY PROPHET (SAW)?? THE ANSWER IS
"NO"...!!!
The thing which I want to say is it’s not right
to demand things from bride's parent ...they can give their daughter anything
which they want to. If relations are compared with things or luxuries then
those relations are not pure.
It’s kind of funny thinking of mine that groom
is really poor that he cannot even afford a bed or sofa to sit on it but he
demand that bride should come to his home with all this stuff... this means that before marriage groom sleep on
the floor and he don't have something in his house to sit.. I know its stupid
thinking of mine but if we think on it then we'll get to know that it’s not
like that stupid...
I am not saying that all the people are
bad on this world that they only want dowry from their wives ...but dowry is
major issue these days...as everybody's problem when daughter is born to their
homes... we just need to think on it...I know it’s not a strong article or note
but it’s just a wake up call to everybody don't just read it take steps on it...
I myself is against dowry.... I know most of
the people wouldn't agree with me … it’s okay everybody got his/her own
thinking we can't force anybody...but don't make it a main reason to reject a
girl...
In the end would love to say that:
"THINGS DON'T MAKE HOME, IT IS BUT PEOPLE WHO MAKE IT MORE
BEAUTIFUL"
SO JUST RESPECT AND CARE ABOUT PEOPLE NOT ABOUT
LUXURIES...BECAUSE YOU CAN'T TAKE LUXURIES WITH YOU IN GRAVE BUT YOU CAN TAKE
PRAYERS WITH YOU WHICH WILL HELP YOU IN NEXT LIFE... SO JUST THINK ON IT...MAY
BE YOU CAN SAVE SOMEBODY’s LIFE...!!!
